welcome to

women of the eu

From Louise Weiss to Simone Veil’s early post war ideas on Europe and peace, to Angela Merkel’s leadership role in contemporary European politics, women have played an instrumental role in shaping European politics and European integration.
The ‘Women in the EU’ project will ultimately lead to a wider and richer understanding of the EU among Israeli high school students, as well as university students by incorporating European Studies in their curriculum and with a particular focus on Women. The focus on Women in the EU will also serve to promote ideals of gender equality and women empowerment among Israeli youth and education stakeholders as the envisioned curriculum will highlight EU values of gender equality and women’s rights. It will also facilitate synergies between political science, history, education and gender studies in the joint effort to cultivate materials on European Studies.
